A. This document defines the cabling system and subsystem components to include cable, termination hardware, supporting hardware, equipment and miscellany that Contractor will furnish to install a structured cabling system supporting voice, data, wireless, CCTV, CATV andPaging. B. The project requires a CommScope structured cabling system. The cabling system shall be backed by a CommScope Network 25 Year Extended Product Warranty and Application Assurance (“System Warranty”). The installation must be performed by a current CommScope authorized and accredited system installation partner that is approved to provide this type of work in the project’s territory. C. The Owner deploys a minimum of Category 6 or for horizontal structured cabling. The Owner deploys Single-mode fiber, Multimode fiber and a minimum of Category 5e copper backbone cabling for Intra-building backbone cabling. The Owner deploys OSP or Indoor Outdoor rated Single-mode fiber, OSP or Indoor Outdoor rated Multimode fiber and a minimum of PE89 copper backbone cabling for Inter-building campus backbone cabling. Horizontal structured cables shall be terminated on matching category rack-mounted patch panels. Inter-building and Intra-building backbone fiber optic cable shall be terminated and housed in rack mount fiber housings. Intrabuilding backbone copper cables shall be terminated on matching category rack-mounted patch panels. Inter-building backbone copper cabling shall be terminated on the protected terminals with gas filled modules when entering the building at each end and then extended to rack mounted patch panels with a minimum of category 5e copper cable. Horizontal data circuits shall be connected to LAN electronics located throughout the facility within each Telecommunications Room (TR) by the Owner. Horizontal voice circuits shall be connected to voice electronics located throughout the facility within each TR by the Owners telephone vendor.
