1. Monitoring and quality control of the pavement condition data shall be accomplished using control sections selected and validated by RIDOT prior to the start of work. There has been an effort to share control sections among the New England states. Therefore, the successful VENDOR may be required to travel to nearby New England states to collect pavement condition data for control sections. 2. Once the VENDOR begins the Pavement Condition Data surveys, they must work continuously on Rhode Island data collection until that data collection has been completed for EACH YEAR of data collection. 3. The pavement data collection services must include but may not be limited to measurements for roughness, rutting, cracking, patching, and other distresses as well as other related work for the RIDOT Pavement Management System and Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) provided to the FHWA using automated data collection vehicles. If changes in the protocols occur for the RIDOT Pavement Management System and/or HPMS, the vendor shall have the ability to adapt to those changes. The data collection network shall be clearly defined by the RIDOT using GIS shapefiles.
