The City of Portland (City) wishes to modernize seven (7) elevators at five (5) City of Portland owned sites listed below. A. The City 1900 Building; 1900 SW Fourth Avenue, Portland, OR – Three (3) geared traction passenger elevators; B. The City East Precinct Building; 737 SE 106th Avenue, Portland, OR – One (1) hydraulic passenger elevator; C. The City North Precinct Building; 499 NE Emerson Street, Portland, OR - One (1) hydraulic passenger elevator; D. The Portland Communication Center; 3732 SE 99th Avenue, Portland, OR - One (1) hydraulic passenger elevator; E. The St. John’s Building; 7214 N Philadelphia Avenue, Portland, OR – One (1) hydraulic passenger elevator; A recent assessment conducted by a third party commissioned by the City determined that all seven (7) elevators at these sites need to be modernized to meet current code, usability, and ADA accommodation. In this solicitation, the City is seeking four (4) elevator modernization bids and two alternate bids listed below. Contractor shall bid on all projects as follows: • One bid for three (3) geared traction passenger elevators at The City 1900 Building • One bid for one (1) hydraulic passenger elevator at the City East Precinct Building • One bid for one (1) hydraulic passenger elevator at the City North Precinct Building • One bid for one (1) hydraulic passenger elevator at the Portland Communication Center; The City is seeking two (2) alternate bids as follows: • Alternate 1 is a bid for one (1) hydraulic passenger elevator at the St. Johns Building. • Alternate 2 is an expedited schedule for the hydraulic passenger elevator at the Portland Communication Center. The City intends to award one (1) contract for the four (4) required bids and may award Alternate 1 and/or Alternate 2 with this initial award or at a later date by amendment to the contract. The City makes no guarantee to award either alternate bid for this solicitation.
