Project Description: The proposed project is the rehabilitation for the existing six span continuous prestressed concrete I-beam bridge. The rehabilitation will include the removal and replacement of the existing superstructure. A new concrete deck with standard concrete barrier railings will also be constructed. The end bents will be converted to semi-integral end bents in order to eliminate the existing joints. Repairs to the substructure units will be recommended where needed and scour countermeasures added at the piers will be investigated but not anticipated due to the footings being embedded into rock. New reinforced concrete approach slabs will also be constructed. The approach roadway work will be minimized, tying the proposed grade into existing in the shortest distance required. New standard approach railing and end treatments will be required at all four corners. Grading for the new approach railing may also be necessary. It is assumed that additional Right of Way will be required for construction access , however the R/W shown in the existing plans may need to be reacquired. It is also assumed that the bridge will be closed to traffic during construction and maintained on a detour route
