Make arrangements, including procurements and payments, on behalf of the UW for general husbanding services such as vessels port movements, berthing, customs entry, and clearance, procuring ships provisions, arranging minor ship's repairs, arranging transportation and accommodations for ship's crew, arranging medical attention for crew and embarked scientists, arranging stevedoring, arranging for shipping, and receiving of cargo, and other services requested, in various ports around the world. The initial 2-year period (CY 2026 and 2027) will include ports in Singapore, the Philippines, Guam, Palau, Fiji, possibly Japan, other South Pacific Islands, Hawaii, and West Coast United States ports. This is an unusual period for R/V Thomas G. Thompson, and the vessel is expected to return to an operating area more focused in the NE Pacific in the fall of CY 2026.
