1. The contractor shall have five or more years of experience performing similar work as described in this contract. 2. The contractor shall carry out work according to the DOF-provided project plan(s). 3. The contractor shall contact the Contract Administrator and landowner at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of site activity. 4. Landowner information must be stored and transmitted securely and must not be shared with any parties other than those directly involved in carrying out the required practices. 5. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, and incidentals necessary to furnish, install, and maintain Riparian Forest Buffers. All equipment, materials, and installation work shall comply with this specification and the Virginia OSHA Standards. a. Required equipment to complete site preparation, planting, and maintenance activities include: i. A bush hog or mower capable of navigating diverse terrain. ii. Herbicide application equipment, either for spray application or targeted invasive plant treatment, including but not limited to one or more of the following: backpack sprayer, boom sprayer attachment and an all-terrain vehicle or tractor, chemical-resistant spray bottle, or other container type. iii. Hand tools and equipment for tree planting and tree shelter installation and targeted invasive plant treatment, including but not limited to one or more of the following: tree spade, dibble bar, planting hoe, scalping tool, mallet, hammer, hatchet, hand pruners, loppers, saw, brush cutter. iv. Personal protective equipment as dictated by the herbicide label and safety data sheet or equipment safety manual. 6. Proper certification for ground crew is required, with oversight of a professional having a Virginia Commercial Pesticide Applicator license, Pesticide Business License, and a Certificate of Insurance with the amounts of insurance indicated in the General Terms and Conditions attachment. 7. Contractor agrees to perform the work in a safe and careful manner and to furnish and use, and require its employees to use, such safety devices, methods and measures as are required to protect its employees, its sub-contractor's employees, the employees of others engaged in the work, and the public against bodily injury or damage to property. 8. Contractor will provide services in compliance with herbicide label and regulations set forth by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS). Contractor will maintain complete herbicide application records at the site during application and for at least two years as specified by VDACS. 9. Contractor will have herbicide labels and material safety data sheets (SDS) at the site for review and inspection during Application. Inspection may be completed by Virginia Department of Forestry staff at any time.
