ITEM NUMBER 1: FULL DEPTH CONCRETE SAWING • Separate pay shall provide for full-depth sawing of pavement in preparation for its removal. • The City of Garland Street Department is responsible for all layouts required for cured sawing. • All saw cuts shall be full depth and straight. • Saw cutting shall be measured and paid for at the unit contract price under "Full Depth Flat Sawing," as provided in the Bid Proposal, including all hand sawing. ITEM NUMBER 2: GREEN FLAT SAWING JOINTS • Separate pay shall provide for sawing specified joints in new concrete pavement. The contractor shall place joints similar to those encountered in the existing pavement sections or match the standard details. • The contractor is responsible for all layouts required for green sawing. • The joints shall be constructed by sawing a 1/4-inch width and to the depth indicated. • All saw cuts must be straight and properly spaced. • Saw joints shall be measured and paid for at the unit contract price under "Green Flat Sawing," as provided in the Proposal for Bid. ITEM NUMBER 3: SELLING JOINTS (EXPANSION, LONGITUDINAL, & TRANSVERSE JOINTS) • Separate pay shall provide for sealing all specified joints in new concrete pavement. • The contractor must ensure the joint reservoir meets cleanliness requirements before the sealant installation begins. • The contractor must ensure that the air compressor filters moisture and oil from the air. The compressor should deliver air at a minimum of 120 ft³/min and develop at least 90 psi nozzle pressure. • The hot-pour liquid sealants require uniform installation. Over-filling or completely filling the reservoir is not desirable.
