The St. Tammany Parish Public School Board (STPSB) is requesting proposals for a wireless network system for interior academic areas, gyms, auditoriums, cafeterias, and portable buildings of each school and offices. Our objective is to review, purchase, and have a vendor install a wireless network system that is secure and capable of providing dense, high-speed wireless connectivity. The system must utilize commercially available high-end equipment, a Category 6 cabling infrastructure and be able to perform advanced security, monitoring and preemptive defensive procedures available today. STPSB expects seamless roaming from site to site by mobile clients and the ability to detect rogue clients and access points. The system must be centrally managed from the Information Technology Department. The system must integrate with Active Directory and support Active Directory authentication and nested groups. Further, the proposed system must fully integrate with the existing Cisco and Extreme-based wired network infrastructure and systems throughout the district. STPSB will be using the system for both internal (teacher/student/administrator) and external (guest) access to designated resources within our network. The St. Tammany Parish School Board (STPSB) is interested in the total scope of services offered by the vendors who have a focus on providing secure wireless solutions. STPSB is seeking a complete system from installation of wiring of the access points with two CAT6 cables per point. Conduit is required for any exterior cable runs and any exposed cabling below the ceiling to configuration of any and all wireless system components. STPSB is seeking a vendor that has broad and demonstrated experience in wireless access in school systems similar to STPSB.
