The proposed contract is for the selective removal of heavy brush and timber within a designated area through mechanical cutting and mastication to remove thick, overgrown encroaching woody vegetation, to allow for prescribed burning, and to improve turnkey roost sites and wildlife habitat. Proposed contract will require removal and mastication/mulching of all trees and brushing 8 inches and less in diameter within designated blocks on WMA. Trees and brush to be masticated will include, but are not limited to: Oak, Elm, Pecan, Willow, Cottonwood, Ash, Boxelder, Eastern Red Cedar, Black Locust, Honey Locust, Hackberry, Plum thickets, Sumac thickets, green briar, etc. All masticated material should be adequately mulched and average no more than 6 inches in depth on the ground. All trunks will be cut as close as possible to the ground, but not below soil surface.
