General: The following is written to provide the City’s estimated annual requirements of Degreaser. A less than 30% d-Limonene citrus peel oilbased biodegradable degreaser/deodorizer is used by the City’s Public Utilities Department for the preventive maintenance and cleaning of water and sewer pipes. The awarded bidder will provide storage tanks with electric pumps for the storage and delivery of the degreaser as needed and requested by the City. All items provided as described within these specifications and requirements must be new, unused, and of the manufacturer’s latest design and model unless otherwise specified. All standard equipment for the product must be provided. All necessary parts not mentioned but needed for the full operation of the product(s) specified must be supplied. Optional items and accessories may be priced separately if not specified. Bidders must submit all manufacturer’s literature, specifications, warranty information, etc. with their bid proposal. Quantity: The quantity stated herein is the City’s estimated annual usage of Biodegradable Sewer Pipe Degreaser and may increase or decrease during the contract period. The City reserves the right to adjust quantities as needed and order more or less than stated to meet the needs of the City. Safety Data Sheet: All Bidders must include a Safety Data Sheet for each product submitted in their bid proposal. The bidder shall be responsible for providing the City an updated copy of the SDS if changes occur with the product during the contract performance period. System Compatibility Testing Upon request the Bidder may be required to provide a five (5) gallon sample of their Biodegradable Sewer Pipe Degreaser to perform resource recovery system compatibility testing before bid is awarded. Storage Tanks: The awarded bidder will provide clean, contaminant free storage tank(s) with electric, metered pump(s) at each indoor location listed below. The awarded bidder is required to provide a Polyethylene Tank or Steel Tank. The pumps shall operate at a minimum of 120v, AC and shall be maintenance free. The Bidder shall ensure the pumps/tanks are adequately grounded to meet any electrical code requirements. The Bidder shall be responsible for repairs and/or replacement of pumps and tanks within 24 hours of notification to allow for safe operations. The awarded bidder shall be responsible for delivery, installation, grounding, and testing of the tanks and metered pumps at each location. Tanks should be able to be placed in existing spill container(s) (up to 500-gallon tank size).
