Commercial crop owners requesting crop damage compensation may contact WDFW for a list of crop adjusters to evaluate crop losses attributed to deer and/or elk damage. The crop adjuster must be able to distinguish crop damage from deer or elk from other causes of crop damage, or loss. The crop owner selects a crop adjustor from this list and coordinates a site visit date/time when the adjustor is available. WDFW will provide, upon request for damage assessment, the crop adjuster a written Notice to Proceed with an assessment of damage. Assessment methodologies must follow the USDA Loss Adjustment Standards Handbook.
