1. Bidder shall remove asbestos in two (2) structures. All asbestos must be completely removed: Findings in 1323 Caldwell St: Cementitious siding, Spline ceiling system, Drywall and joint compound ceiling system, Kitchen Flooring, Window Glazing. Findings in 1117 4th St: Ceiling System, Wall System, Window Glazing, Roofing Material. 2. Bidder shall remove three (3) structures, any outbuildings, sheds, concrete slabs, driveways, and debris from each location. All debris must be completely removed: sites shall be reseeded with a turf type tall fescue seed and mulched. Remove structures and clear property to ground level, if the structure is built on a slab or basement, the slab must remain as well as the footings. All areas of excavation should be cleaned to current finished floor elevation. Any disturbed area shall be filled to grade balancing earthwork on site and reseeded with turf type tall fescue grass seed and mulched, leaving site in good workmanship-like manner. Disturbed slopes shall be re-graded to three (3) to one (1) or flatter [3:1] or as directed. DEBRIS CANNOT BE BURIED ON SITE. The entire site shall also be cleared of any debris, overgrown brush, trash, dead trees, fencing or other material. The Contractor shall leave the site very clean and free of all debris whether the debris is associated with the dwelling demolition or not. Live trees shall not be damaged or removed as part of the demolition. Small shrubs shall be removed and disposed of properly. Without exception, the property must be cleaned and seeded and mulched within ten (10) working days after the building(s) are removed. 3. All applicable permits must be acquired for the demolition of all buildings on the property. All materials shall be disposed of in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations. The City of Statesville makes no claims as to the feasibility or the proper method of demolishing said structures. All land fill fees, or disposal fees of any kind shall be paid for by the Contractor. Disposal by land filling shall be at a landfill that has obtained all permits as required by North Carolina law. 4. The successful bidder will be responsible for acquiring ALL the necessary permits. This includes Vector Control and NESHAP regulations and final permit from Iredell County Building Inspections Department. Failure to acquire the proper permits will result in fines from the above-mentioned agencies and non-responsive bidder status and rejection of all future bids. The successful bidder must comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. 5. The successful bidder accepts the building(s) in “as is" condition and agrees to hold the City of Statesville harmless from any and all liabilities or expense resulting from or attributable to removal of same.
