This work involves the cleaning and removal of grit and sludge on the Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) tanks 1 & 2 at the Rotonda Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). • The tanks are above-ground tanks with dimensions of: Length: 46’4”, width: 10’, and height: 17’. • Contractor must use a Vacuum suction truck with a telescopic boom to be able to reach the tanks. • Contractor will be responsible for the safe disposal of the grit and sludge removed from the tanks. • Contractor will be responsible for ensuring all electrical equipment has been properly isolated and locked out/tagout. • Contractor will ensure all confined space entry procedures are followed (gas detection, ventilation, harness, standby person). • Contractor will be responsible for providing and wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • Contractor will always communicate with the plant operator. • Plant staff will drain the MBR tanks to a low level before the day of the cleaning. • West Port WRF will be the location for disposal of the grit and sludge collected from the tanks.
