1.2.1 The direct mercury analyzer (DMA) must be capable to process liquid, solid and gas samples and have immediate mercury release into the spectrophotometer. 1.2.2 The DMA will operate by thermal decomposition, amalgamation and atomic absorption with less than 6 minutes per sample for analysis time. 1.2.3 The DMA must have built-in autosampler suitable for liquid, solid and gas samples. 1.2.4 The DMA must use compressed air for all applications. 1.2.5 The capacity of the system samples must be 1.5 gram or 1.0 milliliter. 1.2.6 The carrier flow must be 100 mL/minute and have an auto-stop if not used to reduce consumption. 1.2.7 Sample boats must be nickel or quartz. 1.2.8 Amalgamator must be quartz filled with a gold coated substrate and able to handle a heating coil up to 850 OC. 1.2.9 The DMA must have a touch screen terminal with 5 USB ports for printers, keyboards, mouse, storage device, etc. In addition, a 232 port for an analytical balance interface and 1 LAN port to enable network connection. If pc is offered with the DMA, 256 MB RAM, a 20 MB hard drive and 1 USB connection is required. It must read Windows XP or newer. The software system must have complete audit trail and have LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) connectivity. 1.2.10 The DMA must have method compliance for USEPA Method 7473. MILESTONES AND DELIVERABLES: 1.3.1 The vendor will provide onsite training within 8 weeks of purchase. 1.3.2 The purchase comes with a one-year service agreement. The vendor will be able to provide a 7-year warranty. VENDOR/STAFF SPECIFICATIONS: 1.4.1 The vendor must provide installation technician qualifications prior to purchase. 1.4.2 The vendor must be a scientific manufacturer. TRANSPORTATION AND DELIVERY: 1.5.1 Deliveries shall be made during regular workdays/hours (8:00 – 5:00 Monday thru Friday). 1.5.2 All shipments shall comply with the federal and state requirements and include Safety Data and Warning Labels. 1.5.3 Orders shall be labeled and packaged to ensure acceptable condition upon receipt.
