It is the intent of the City of Brownsville, Texas, to solicit sealed competitive bids for the Southmost Nature Trail Phase IV project. This phase will continue the City’s commitment to expanding safe, sustainable, and accessible transportation options for residents and visitors. The project includes construction of approximately 4,900 linear feet of dedicated bicycle lanes, shared lane markings (sharrows), and upgraded sidewalks along La Posada Drive, Siesta Drive, and Alameda Drive. These improvements are part of an integrated trail network that promotes active transportation, reduces carbon emissions, and enhances connectivity between neighborhoods, parks, schools, and community amenities. All work must be performed in strict accordance with the specifications, plans, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and standards established by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This project is funded in part by the Federal Carbon Reduction Program, and bidders must comply with all relevant grant provisions.
