The Vendor will supply all field and computer equipment, personnel, and transportation. All equipment and vehicles used must be approved by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Contract Manager. FWC will provide data sheets to the Vendor. Any changes to datasheets or protocols described below must be approved by the FWC Contract Manager. 4.2. Tampa Bay study area Surveys at known or suspected breeding colonies will be performed as follows: 4.2.1 A direct count will be conducted by slowly circling by boat ~30m from the colony. 4.2.2 For colonies with active nesting, one of the following techniques will be used to count breeding individuals: a. A ground-based count will occur when likely nest sites (e.g., along an interior creek or pond) are not visible from a boat. Ground counts will be performed at the discretion of the Vendor with respect to disturbance of nesting reddish egrets and other species.
