The New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission requires a contractor to complete steel and concrete work at its Woodside facility. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to carry out the work as outlined below. This includes structural steel installation, concrete removal and replacement, surface preparation, painting, and debris disposal. All work must be performed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements to ensure the safe and timely completion of the project. The contractor shall perform the following tasks: 1. Shop Drawings & Submittals • Provide shop drawings and structural steel calculations for review and approval. • Submit shop drawings within three (3) business days of receipt of the purchase order. 2. Concrete Removal & Demolition • Utilize a chipping gun to remove concrete around the existing steel beam and steel plate at Lane 3 and Lane 4. • Demolish the existing steel elements surrounding the opening between Lane 3 and Lane 4. 3. Formwork & Structural Steel Installation • Install new lumber to construct formwork for the concrete pour. • Install new structural steel consisting of a 3" x 6" angle around the 42' opening, including welded studs to anchor the concrete. • Following the concrete pour, weld a 5" x 1/4" steel plate, 42' in length, continuously around the installed angle. • The new steel angle shall be 42' long with a total weight of approximately 756 lbs. 4. Surface Preparation & Finishing • Thoroughly scrape and remove all loose paint from the interior surfaces of both lanes. • Prime and apply a finishing coat of paint to all interior wall surfaces of both lanes. 5. Cleanup & Disposal • Remove and properly dispose of all debris generated during the course of work in compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
