The Office of Mental Health (OMH) Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) provides training and awareness about suicide risk assessment efforts in SC. One training SPP has provided in the past is Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR). To maintain the availability of this trainings for the clinicians and healthcare professionals, SPP must keep an inventory of training materials. Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) teaches best practices recommended by the nation’s leading experts in the research and delivery of suicide care. It is intended to teach clinicians and other healthcare professionals who conduct suicide risk assessments how to determine the level of suicide risk for an individual. It provides a structure for the clinical provider which can be used in the development of a collaborative treatment and safety plan and provides a language for the clinician to use with non-clinical staff who are also involved in the care that the individual is receiving. AMSR offers the latest research-informed suicide risk assessment and risk formulation to be used in a variety of care settings. These unique elements have made AMSR a choice training for SPP in previous years. To continue providing these trainings, SPP must maintain inventory of AMSR training materials. EDC owns AMSR training and is the only organization to offer the materials. EDC owns a copyright and intellectual property rights for the contents of the websites and any associated trainings. AMSR is a recommended training for the Zero Suicide Framwork. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
