The District of Columbia (the “District”), Office of ContracƟng and Procurement (“OCP”) on behalf of the District Department of Energy and Environment (“DOEE”) is seeking a fencing contractor “Contractor” to provide landscaping services to the Washington Gas Light property owned by the District of Columbia Government (approx. address: 1125 O St SE Washington DC) The landscaping services will include improving and beauƟfying the experience of bike trail users by removing and disposing of an old chain link fence (approx. 1100 linear feet, and 8 feet tall) with overgrown vegetaƟon and replacing it with a new post and rail fence (approx. 1100 linear feet, 60” high with 3 levels of rail) using a combinaƟon of reclaimed lumber provided by DDOT Urban Forestry Division, and remaining lumber and hardware provided by the Contractor. The Contractor shall re-use exisƟng posts to the maximum extent pracƟcable and drive any new metal posts into the ground without removing soil. No soil shall be excavated during this project. The Contractor shall cut the exisƟng chain link fence posts and any new fence posts installed at 60” in preparaƟon for them to be used as ‘guide posts’ to be sheathed with half round 6” fence posts and faced with 1”x6” to cover the metal posts and the joint where the rails join. The contractor will also procure and install 4 interpreƟve signs. The content and design of the signs will be provided by DOEE.
