The selected designer will: • Conduct site assessment(s) of the municipal building property and surrounding areas identified for canopy enhancement. • Develop a collaborative design plan in consultation with the Town, Middlebury College, Addison Central School District, and community stakeholders. • Select appropriate native or climate-resilient tree species that meet canopy and ecological goals. • Provide a detailed planting plan including species selection, quantities, sizes, spacing, and installation methods. • Supply all necessary materials, labor, and equipment for tree planting. • Oversee installation and ensure best practices for soil preparation, planting, mulching, and staking (if required). • Include a 1-year guarantee for all trees installed. • Provide a watering and maintenance plan for the establishment period, to be implemented in coordination with the Town and partners.
