The work consists of successfully identifying and treating named non-native invasive plants within designated areas. Numerous treatment areas will be submitted to the contractor to plan and arrange treatment. Multiple treatment types are being sought and up to 3 awards will be made from this solicitation; one for mechanical control with a forestry mulcher, one for drone application, and one for hand herbicide application (backpack foliar, hack-and-squirt, basal, cut stump). Pricing must be submitted for each treatment type the contractor wishes to perform. Award(s) will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for each treatment type. If a single bidder is awarded all treatments, the award will take the form of a single contract. Location maps specifying treatment areas with site descriptions will be distributed as they are gathered for planned projects. A. SCOPE OF WORK REQUIREMENTS: 1. The Contractor shall survey the treatment area for the named invasive plants. Wherever found, the contractor shall treat them. 2. Multiple herbicide application methods are required. Use of other chemicals or any other modifications to these guidelines must be approved in writing by the Contract Administrator or an authorized Department employee. a. Foliar application with backpack sprayers with glyphosate or triclopyr 3A mixed at a 2% solution, appropriate surfactant if necessary, and a marking dye shall be used and applied per label instructions for foliar applications. Treatment may be made from July 1 through September 30. b. Hack-and-squirt with glyphosate or triclopyr 3A undiluted with a marking dye added. Apply in 1 hack per inch of diameter or hacks spaced no more than 2 inches apart. Treatment may be made from July 1 through January 30.
