The project site is located on Lake Fairfield Drive in Greenville, South Carolina. The pedestrian bridge and boardwalk connects the end of Fairfield Drive with the cul-de-sac on Hermitage Road. The existing pedestrian bridge and boardwalk were completed in 2007. The main purpose of the rehab project is to replace the boardwalk beams, joists, decking, handrail posts, and rails. The existing 8"x8" boardwalk supports and cross bracing will remain. The wood deck for the 60' long steel bridge will be rehabilitated by removing, turning over and reinstalling the existing wood planks and waterproofing the planks. The contractor shall be responsible for demolition and removal of the boardwalk superstructure as shown on the project plans.
