The City of Waco is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide and install new bridge lighting fixtures, controllers, and related components, along with technical support, for a portion of the existing lighting system on the IH 35 frontage road bridges in downtown Waco. The existing lighting system, installed in 2015, is only partially functional, with approximately 40% of the lights inoperable and difficult to maintain due to specialized equipment requirements. The City’s objective is to implement a more durable, weather- and moisture-resistant system that is easier to maintain and ensures long-term reliability. The project will begin with the complete replacement of lighting fixtures on Column B & D, while existing fixtures will be reused on the remaining columns, with gradual replacement planned over the next few years if the City of Waco chooses. Waco desires work on Column B & D is to be completed by January 1, 2026. Vendors shall use attached original plans as a general guide and submit proposals that include a complete system description, comprehensive material specifications, full-color lighting renderings of the proposed lighting design, and certified wiring diagrams by a Master Electrician. Proposals will be evaluated based on cost, vendor experience, responsiveness, and the quality and compliance of proposed materials. Detail drawings, scope of services, and/or specifications are attached as Appendices.
