The work and services that may be required under these contracts will encompass a wide range of engineering and/or environmental tasks. Provide project delivery assistance (PDA) to District Planning Unit for design to successfully deliver projects per Department Policies, regulations, etc. Examples of assignments that are expected to be made include but are not limited to: • Assist Plans Unit in implement modern technologies o Non-destructive methods for evaluating various types of pavements o Utilize drone technology where applicable o Adoption of technologies leading to paperless future and machine readable data o Assist with visual technologies to enhance presentations o Support utilization of other technologies • Reviewing submissions made to or by the Plans Unit o Various permits (waterways, E&S, NPDES etc.) o Preliminary & Final plans (roadway, structure, traffic, R/W, etc.) o Environmental unit submissions (CEE, E&E scoping etc.) o Assist with ADA, intersection, and other pavement feature design and/or reviews o Reviewing submissions on locally led projects • Assisting in obtaining clearances/approvals from internal teams or outside agencies o D-419 utility clearance (may include coordinating with Utility companies) o SUE and other exploratory tasks o Railroad Clearance o Permits (waterways, E&S, NPDES etc.) • Assistance in completing various project tasks o Attend field views o Assist with hydraulic, drainage, and other design aspect of a project o Attend meetings associated with projects o Assist is development and review of project schedules o Assist is various project survey tasks o Assist in right of way acquisition services
