Quarterly Generator PM services include, but not limited to. Engine Electrical (Starting system) • Batteries – check battery water level, age, specific gravity & perform load test. Clean batteries externally including cables and posts. • Alternator – Visually inspect alternator & belt. Measure & record alternator DC voltage output. • Glow Plugs – Check for proper operation if applicable. • Battery Charger – Visually inspect, measure and record DC voltage output. • Staring Motor – Visually inspect, test for proper operation, performed during engine start). • Spark Plugs – Check spark plugs, and spark plug wires condition and annotate recommendation for repair or replacement if applicable. • Distributor Cap – Inspect. Annotate recommendations for repair or replacement. Generator • Windings – Visually inspect. • Bearings – Inspect for proper lubrication. • Brushes/Diodes – Visually inspect. • Leads/Connections – Visually inspect. • Circuit Breaker – Test for proper operation. • Mounts/Bolts – Visually inspect.
