The building referred to in this invitation to bid is a Police Department secure storage facility constructed in 2008. The building is a slab on grade building with 2’ x 6’ wall studs and 303 plywood siding and finished with drywall on the inside. Water damage and rot is present in the exterior siding on the eastern facing portion of the building. There are two metal man doors and 1 garage door. The headers above all three doors are rotten. Work will include removal of the water damaged siding, removal of the garage door and man doors. Replacing the rotten headers, replacing the failed siding including all trim and caulking. Reinstalling the two-man doors, and garage door. (Painting is not included in this contract.) Lump sum proposals for the repair should be submitted according to the attached repair detail. Unforeseen repairs that are discovered during construction will be handled by change order based on the pre bid time and material hourly rate and the percentage markup on materials as stated on the bid proposal form. Contractor shall ensure that the building is secure at the end of each work shift.
