Commodity or Contractual Service Required (commodity or United National Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC), manufacturer, model, and description, as appropriate): 81111805 Proprietary or licensed systems maintenance or support - The purchase from SirsiDynix is an integrated Library System, also known as the State Library's online catalog. This catalog was first purchased in 2004 and allows the library's collection to be maintained by staff easily searchable in a very customizable user-friendly online presence. It is hosted by Sirsi and they deliver 24x7x365 support coverage, perform daily backups, and necessary upgrades, and ensure that there are no service interruptions. Performance and/or Design Requirements (e.g. intended use, function or application, compatibility, requirements; reference to policy, rule, statute or other act of the Legislature, etc., as appropriate): The Division of Library and Information Services shall per F.S. 257.04, "maintain a library for state officials and employees, especially of informational material pertaining to their work and provide research and informaiton services for state agencies." (See attachment). Justification for single source acquisition (what is necessary and unique about the product, service or source; steps taken to confirm unavailability of competition, as appropriate): This system is proprietary and was specifically developed to meet the needs of libraries. SirsiDynix is the only vendor that can provide annual support and maintenance including hardware, software and application upgrades.
