The purpose of this this RFP is to solicit consulting services for the District’s agricultural inventory of Westchester County. The last county-wide inventory was performed in 2003. This update also seeks to expand the criteria used to inventory existing operations. The District is looking forward to the next generation of farming, charting a course that will assure the long-term economic viability of agriculture in the County. Despite the agriculture and the food system’s critical importance to the County and region, current numbers and their related productivity remain unknown. Further, the District is interested in identifying what available potential prime farmland is still present within Westchester County.
