This contract work consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to build the supporting infrastructure necessary for the replacement of the existing submarine cable serving Hat Island. The work will take place on land, and in the nearshore environment at both the Port of Everett and Hat Island. The supporting infrastructure associated with this contract includes the installation of Horizontal Directionally Drilled (HDD) conduits, electrical and fiberoptic splice vaults, and associated equipment at each of the two locations for the future installation of a submarine cable from land to a predetermined location on the sea floor. Work over the water, requiring marine vessels on the water is limited during to certain months of the year. Work will coordination with District crew for connection to existing distribution system. This project includes handling contaminated soils on the Port of Everett side, along with mitigating surface and subsurface water management with the installation of a casing designed to separate contaminants from the HDD operation
