The Consultant will undertake a Natural Resources Inventory to compile, describe and map Red Hook’s important natural resources. The Town is in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan, identifying natural resource protection as a priority. The NRI will detail the significance of natural resources to the community as well as identify existing and potential threats and provide recommendations for sustainability, resource preservation, conservation and economic development. The selected Consultant will demonstrate best practices in gathering natural resource and conservation information into a single inventory, with GIS mapping, analysis and recommendations for critical habitats in the Town. The NRI will be a narrative booklet, a map set and an online mapping tool at the county level. The NRI includes a natural resources inventory as well as municipal scenic, cultural, historical and agricultural resources.
