Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Florida Public Transportation Association (FPTA) acts as a collective voice in promoting the recognition, use, and improvement of public transportation in the State of Florida. The organization's major purposes are to provide a forum for the exchange of experiences, discussions, and study of mutual problems among Florida's Transit Systems, and to act as a positive force in the State of Florida to foster common policies, requirements and educational efforts regarding public transportation. In order to maintain a well-trained and educated workforce, FPTA works in conjunction with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) to plan and hold numerous training opportunities throughout the State of Florida to further the knowledge of transit system personnel and other transportation professionals. These events provide essential training opportunities for Florida's transit systems and FDOT. It also provides direct access to the executive management of these systems. This encourages informational exchanges which result in operational improvements and advancement of the programs administered by FDOT's Transit Office. These events also provide technical support and training to the agencies delivering rural transit services.
