The local water department has made improvements to the municipal water supply with the addition of a new pumping station on the campus of Southington High School (SHS) located at 720 Pleasant Street, Southington, CT 06489, which increased pressure and volume. Based on these upgrades it may be possible to remove the existing fire pump at SHS and allow the municipal water supply to handle the building fire protection needs. We are requesting an evaluation of the existing conditions. Based on the results of this study it would determine if removal of the fire pump is possible. Design for the removal would be an additional phase and is not included as part of this proposal. Information gathered as part of the study phase can be used in the future design portion of the work.
