FLORAL PARK STATION Escalator replacement, platform and canopy replacements, Platform A and Platform B extensions, new waiting room on Platform B, ASIMS with associated boiler room, utility service upgrades, Station building improvements, and ADA paths of travel. The Work at this station includes: A. Replace all platforms. a. Replace platform slab, tactile warning edge, and all expansion joints. b. Replace platform supports and substructure above viaduct structure. c. Platform A is to be extended approximately 200 feet west to accommodate 10 cars. d. Platform B is to be extended approximately 50 feet west to accommodate 12 cars. B. Provide a new ASIMS throughout the platforms. Provide a new boiler room and all the equipment required to support the ASIMS. C. Remove existing canopies and replace them with canopies that integrate lighting. D. Replacement of the escalator and associated equipment on Platform B with 32-inch-wide escalators to meet LIRR best practices and improve passenger flow. Escalators must have three level treads at top and bottom, consistent with best practices for public transportation facilities.
