The BCA recently acquired a half-acre site in Mankato, MN for the new construction of a forensic laboratory and investigations facility at Bassett Drive in Mankato, MN (PID R01091520001). The BCA conducts investigations in the areas of homicide, predatory crimes, human trafficking, narcotics, financial crimes, and other complex and/or conflict investigations. The BCA also provides forensic science laboratory services, crime scene response, digital forensic examination and analysis, and other specialized technical support for law enforcement that many agencies cannot support locally. This new facility will provide a regional presence for the southern portion of Minnesota. The newly constructed building will be a two-stories and approximately 55,000 sq. ft. and constructed on a 5.87 parcel owned by the State of Minnesota, directly north of the Blue Earth County Justice Center. The Project includes site development, utility extensions, and infrastructure improvements to serve the southern region of Minnesota’s law enforcement. The Project will provide services to an estimated 768,000 people and approximately 150 law enforcement agencies, offering investigative, forensic, and training services. JEDunn was onboarded as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) at the design development stage and will serve as the CMR throughout the project. The GMP is anticipated to be approximately $54,600,000 and based on a 100% construction document set. The project is funded through bond appropriations in the 2023 and 2025 legislative sessions. Your response and fee proposal will be based off of these tasks listed below. All reviews and deliverables will be expected to be completed within 7 calendar days unless otherwise agreed upon by the State project manager(s) and awarded construction auditor.
