Repair is defined as the replacement/repair of certain parts in the transmission that does not involve a complete teardown of the transmission and subsequent rebuild. Transmission repairs are based on the hourly labor rate Bid and the cost plus the % markup Bid to the parts used in the repair. All internal parts used in the repair shall be new original equipment quality. Torque converters shall be new or rebuilt to the original manufacturer’s specifications. Along with their invoice to the City, the selected Seller must submit an invoice from their supplier showing their cost for parts used in the repair of City transmissions. Rebuild (Overhaul) is defined as the complete teardown of the transmission and involves, at the minimum, the following steps: • The transmission shall be carefully inspected for cracks, stripped bolt holes, and flat mating surfaces. All fasteners must be tightened to the torque specifications indicated by the manufacturer. • All steel, cast iron, and aluminum parts are to be thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure they meet OEM specifications.
