Summer Work: Wayne State university, comprised of 69.4 acres, is outsourcing ground maintenance services. These services will begin each year in March and April and will be required through the fall (the end of October). However, other services (i.e.: continued litter pick up and trash dumping, and potential Fall clean-up, etc.) may be required on an as-needed basis through the end of November. Specifications contained herein cover the zones detailed on the Grounds Maintenance Campus Grass/Turf Map which is provided. Services will be at the locations listed below. The supplier will be responsible for all services at the referenced locations, and agrees to provide all necessary labor, equipment, and materials necessary to maintain the specified areas in a safe condition. This shall include the use of proper knowledge, skills materials and equipment on a timely basis. Services are expected to include: 1. Litter patrol in assigned areas – daily • Includes fence lines, tree lines and areas along buildings 2. Empty trash cans, where present – daily a. Zone 1 - Main Campus (gold color) - 117 total cans b. Zone 2 - Northeast Sector (blue color) - 13 total cans c. Zone 3 - South Main Campus (green color) - 25 total cans d. Zone 4 - Med Campus (purple color) - 27 total cans e. Zone 5A - Athletic Campus (Red/red hatch color) - 10 total cans f. Zone 5B - Other Campus (Red: 175, 217, 992) - 5 total cans 3. Lawn Maintenance (Zones 1-5 as specified) • Weekly Mowing • Weekly String -trimming • Edging – every other week • Clean-up of debris and cuttings on hard surfaces after work is performed 4. Bed Maintenance • Remove weeds, debris and litter weekly • Monthly edging of beds 5. Shrubs and hedges – spring/fall pruning, monthly trimming 6. Pricing for additional services, on an as – needed basis • Prep and support for outside events o On-site staff to provide litter and trash removal services • Tree trimming, as requested. • Removal and replacement of plant materials-if any dead plants are noticed, please notify Grounds management for review and discussion. • Seeding and turf restoration - including aeration, over seeding, new seeding • Pressure washing sidewalks, outdoor spaces and building facades
