As a requirement of the Preschool Development Birth-Five (PDG-B5) grant, the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), through the Division of Early Childhood Care and Development (DECCD), is required to restructure its quality standards for early child care education. For this purpose, we need to use a statistically valid and reliable measurement tool to empower schools’ educators in the understanding that interactions matter most, develop their skills, and assess their progress. Therefore, MDHS/DECCD is requesting CLASS® (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) training and training materials from a vendor that is authorized to provide training on the CLASS® tool and is authorized to certify trainers and observers to use the CLASS® tool for observations and training purposes.
