The selected contractor will be responsible for: Review & Confirmation ● Review the Asbestos Inspection Report (Exhibits A & B) and confirm the locations and materials identified as asbestos-containing. Scope of Abatement ● Only materials containing greater than 1% asbestos—as defined by EPA and OSHA regulations (40 CFR Part 763 and 29 CFR 1926.1101)—are included in this abatement scope. ● Materials with ≤1% asbestos are not required to be abated and should be left in place or managed per applicable safety guidelines. ● The intent is to limit abatement to regulated materials to reduce unnecessary costs and avoid disturbing non-regulated materials. Contractor Requirements ● All work must be performed by a licensed and certified asbestos abatement contractor in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Contractor Responsibilities ● Obtain all required permits, notifications, and approvals, including reporting to the State DEQ. ● Provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE). ● Perform the safe removal, packaging, transportation, and disposal of all identified ACMs in accordance with applicable laws. ● Conduct air monitoring and final clearance testing, as required. ● Submit a project closeout report including: ○ Air clearance test results ○ Waste disposal documentation ○ Summary of abatement activities
