As noted above, RIHousing is interested in developing an RFP for an assessment of the impact different accessibility requirements would have on the cost and other aspects of affordable and mixed-income developments. Specifically, we are interested in determining the impacts if: • 100% of the units in an affordable development were required to meet the Type A full accessibility standard; • 25% of the units in an affordable development were required to meet the Type A full accessibility standard; and • At least 10% of the units were required to meet the Type A full accessibility standard. To the extent possible accessible units would be on the ground floor. We assume that impacts could be different for different types of developments, therefore we are proposing that this analysis consider several different types of buildings such as: - Mill conversions or other adaptive reuse of existing non-residential structures - Gut rehab of existing 2-4 unit buildings - New construction 2-4 unit buildings (including townhouses)
