OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE: The Illinois EPA is looking to purchase a pilothouse boat, V-hull, fiberglass, aluminum, or steel within below specs are acceptable, motors and trailer. This boat is for conducting water quality monitoring activities on Lake Michigan as part of Illinois EPA’s Lake Michigan Monitoring Program. The boat will regularly be navigated up to 5km offshore, and trailered as part of normal use to boat launches along Illinois’ 63 miles of shoreline on Lake Michigan. SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES REQUIRED: This procurement is for a 24–26-foot Hull length pilothouse boat, motors, trailer, electronics, and equipment. Watercraft: The boat must have an enclosed, solid pilothouse the full width of the boat, full windows front and sides, with door access large enough for a person to walk in and out (door can be solid or canvas). The boat must be equipped with a danforth-style anchor, 150’ braided nylon anchor line, with 20’ chain rode and an electric anchor windlass deployment/retrieval system. The boat must have a rear working deck space minimum of 40 square feet. The boat must be equipped with navigation lights, safety horn, minimum 6 mooring cleats, 3 placed on each side of the boat - one front, starboard one mid starboard, one back starboard; one front port, one mid port, one back port. The boat must be equipped with port and starboard front windshield wiper(s) Boat Hull Length: range: 24’0” – 26’0” Boat Length Overall (LOA): Maximum 31’0”, from tongue to furthest protruding point. Boat Beam Width: range 8’6” – 8’8” Boat Internal Fuel Tank Capacity: range: 140gal – 200gal Draft Maximum: 36” Motor(s): Acceptable configuration/Horsepower – single outboard (with 9.9HP-25HP backup motor) 300HP – 400HP; twin outboards 2x 150HP - 200HP Total Maximum Weight of Boat and Trailer: including hull, motor(s), electronics, gear, trailer - 10,000 lbs
