a. The water treatment service contractor shall provide scale and corrosion protection for the condenser water system, chilled water systems, and hot water systems. b. The water treatment contractor shall include all chemicals and services to: i. Reduce electrical consumption through improved heat transfer efficiency. ii. Monitor test results and communicate required recommendations. iii. Advise the Newark Campus maintenance mechanics on the implementation of the water treatment services. c. The contractor shall ensure that the chemicals used in the water treatment system shall have no detrimental effect on the ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials in the equipment being treated. d. The contractor shall use the existing equipment at each site unless there are alternative technologies or control equipment that will be best utilize effectively at the Newark Campus. A separate cost shall be provided detailing the equipment and costs. e. The contractor shall make adjustments in dosing pumps to optimize the chemical treatments for open systems. f. The contractor shall provide for dosing on closed systems, as needed. g. The contractor shall be responsible for recommending treatment dosages and methods for protecting idle systems such as laying up the chillers and chilled water system during the winter months. h. The contractor shall provide repair services for the water treatment systems. i. The contractor shall provide re-calibration and cleaning of all measuring sensors, pumps and controllers before each cooling season.
