1. Yard Waste • Leaves, yard clippings, paper, straw, and loose yard care items shall be placed in 30-gallon paper lawn and leaf bags or other suitable containers which, when full, do not exceed fifty (50) pounds in weight. • Palm fronds, branches, and other long yard waste must be stacked and placed adjacent to the street, road, or alley for easy collection. • Heavy brush and tree branches no longer than three (3) feet in length and six (6) inches in diameter should be gathered into a pile o larger than five (5) cubic yards, which is approximately a 5’by 5’ by 5’ pile. • Landscapers, property owners and residents qualify for curbside service. • Waste hauler contractor will be responsible for providing the equipment and labor to address seasonal volumes. • Waste hauler contractor staff will have rakes on each truck to clean up small yard waste debris while collecting. • Yard waste will be collected once a week regular and reliable city wide pickup. • Fines in place for yard waste not collected within 72 hours of written notice by city staff. • Waste hauler contractor can subcontract yard waste removal subject to the city’s consent which will not be unreasonably withheld. 2. Curbside Bulky Goods and Dry Trash 1607 Inlet Avenue: Two (2) 34 Cubic Yard Compactors, one (1) for Garbage and (1) for Cardboard • From November to February both compactors will be picked up, emptied, and returned within 24 hours of request by designated city staff via email or phone call. • From March to October both compactors will be scheduled to be picked up on every Friday and Monday. • Garbage Compactor will be hauled to Contractor’s transfer station. • Cardboard compactor will be hailed to Pratt Industries located at 101 Kahn Road in Savannah, GA. • Fines in place after 3 written documented failure to haul within 24 hours’ notice by designated city staff. • Contractor will lease both compactors to the city. • All pulls are to be scheduled after 7AM and before 7PM due to noise ordinance. 3. Transfer Station located at 76 Polk Street; Garbage, Yard Waste, and Recycling Containers • Pick-up and empty compactor within 24 hours of request by designated city staff. • All containers are to be changed out in transfer station yard and not on the public street on Polk Street or Bay Street. • Pulls are to be scheduled after 7AM and before 7PM due to noise ordinance. • Contractor will provide six (6) 30-yard garbage containers for garbage and waste. o Three (3) Containers will be used for garbage and bulky goods. Container will be hauled to contractor’s transfer station. o Two (2) Containers will be used for brush and yard waste. Container will be hauled to contractor's transfer station. o One (1) Container will be used for mixed plastics. Container will be hauled to Pratt Industries in Savannah • Contractor will lease a 34-yard compactor to the city at this site o Compactor will be used for trash picked up off the beach and streets by city forces. Container will be hauled to the Chatham County landfill. • All fines in place after (3) written documented failure to haul within 24 hours’ notice by designated city staff.
