The purpose of this solicitation is to request quotes for a 3-year contract for maintenance work for the Foundation Square Fountain that is located on the University of South Carolina campus on the corner of Greene and Lincoln streets in downtown Columbia. The general expectation is that the fountains are kept clean and in proper working order at all times, and the water is clean, clear and odorless. Specifications for Regular Upkeep Maintenance Procedures: • Inspect operation of fountains system upon arrival. • Inspect all fountain equipment. • Check operating pressure on sand filter gauge. • Clean debris from fountain bottoms and surfaces. • Brush down walls of fountains. • Clean and remove any debris from suction sumps and screens in fountains. • Clean skimmer baskets located in fountains wall. • Clean strainer basket on filter pump. • Inspect and clean water level sensor probes located in middle fountains. • Perform backwash cycle on sand filter. • Turn on the water level control system to re-fill fountains as needed. • Test and adjust water chemistry in fountains. • Adjust position of fountains’ lights as needed. • Inspect lights: lenses, gaskets and cables. • Check to ensure that all fountains’ lights are working. • Make adjustments to discharge valves if needed. • Check timeclock in panel for correct operation. • Test water level sensor controls. • Check incoming power supply voltage. • Check voltage on all motors. • Check amperage on all motors. • Test all GFI breakers in control panel. • Visual inspection of components in control panel. • Visual inspection of all pipes and fittings in pump vault. • Clean equipment vault and sump pump pits to remove any debris as needed.
