a. The County operates multiple ambulances, currently three with the intent to operate four, with two ambulances operating 24/7. Vehicle maintenance of ambulances follows manufacturer recommendations. The County intends to seek the services of a certified automotive mechanic, with preference in emergency services vehicles and/or diesel mechanic, for routine and emergency work performed on vehicles. b. The maintenance shop should ideally be located within Wyoming County to reduce travel time for crews in vehicle relays to move units around for service to maintain continuity of coverage to the County. Consideration of shops outside of Wyoming County will be given, depending on the distance from Warsaw, New York. c. The maintenance shop must be able to provide a vehicle lift system with the necessary clearance and capability of lifting the ambulances, which weigh between 10,000 and 14,000 pounds. d. The maintenance shop should be able to provide a quick assessment for vehicles breakdowns to ensure readiness or identify potential needs to ensure effective operations, minimizing downtime, and perform repairs as soon as parts become available to ensure to emergency service coverage of the County.
