Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Purpose: To establish statewide contract(s) for the State of Louisiana to purchase window and/or wall mounted A/C and Heating units. The contract does not cover the purchase of those items commonly identified as air ionizers, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, or central air conditioners. 2. Design: All air conditioners shall be new models that are in current production. All units shall be complete with all necessary operating components and accessories customarily furnished, including installation hardware and brackets for those types of air conditioners that require it. 3. Warranty (Air conditioners): Products to include a warranty which is free of defects for a period of 1 year or in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard warranty, whichever is greater. 4. Warranty (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners [PTAC]): Products to include a warranty which is free of defects for a period of 1 year on parts and labor, 5 years on the sealed unit or in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard warranty, whichever is greater. 5. Additional Warranty: Additional or greater warranty coverage offered by the manufacturer will be accepted by the State of Louisiana. Warranty information should be supplied with the bid response, or within 5 business days upon written request by OSP. The Contractor agrees to replace free of charge any and all defective air conditioners or accessories delivered under the contract. All delivery charges associated with the defect replacement shall be paid by the Contractor. 6. Recall: By submitting a bid response, the bidder expressly assumes full responsibility for prompt notifications of any product recall in accordance with all applicable State or Federal regulations.
