The following specification applies to the purchase of complete manual tarp systems for Department snow trucks, tandem axle. Tarps will be supplied as kits for installation by the Department. COMPLETE MANUAL TARP SYSTEM to fit the following specifications: 13’ body: inside width 84” x inside length 156” - outside width 96” x outside length 160” The outside length dimension is from the front of the body to back of tailgate. It does not include the cab shield. Tarps will operate from front to back. The tarp must not have side flaps. Kits will be supplied as requested for installation by Department personnel. All “Kits” will be individually packaged and labeled including instructions and all materials necessary for proper installation on the listed Department truck. Materials supplied in kits will be of the same quantity, quality and construction as installed tarp systems. Kits must be supplied as a package from the successful vendor. A. Ground level manual crank tarp system for dump body must be a front-to-back style sized to correctly fit the body length and width. B. Ground level manual hand crank must be mounted on the left front corner of the box. C. System must include tarps that shall be of a material that is waterproof and able to stand use with hot asphalt (400-500 degrees) in summer use. D. System must include bolt on external body side mount springs, galvanized steel arms, offset elbows and tension bow (to hold the tarp down in the front and to help seal the box), tarp spool with wind deflector shield, mounted on the dump body cab protector. E. Aluminum or galvanized steel 4 spring assembly. F. Grommets must be installed approximately every two feet down each tarp side. G. All necessary hardware must be supplied to install the tarp system.
