SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED: Provide shuttle services for University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMA) under the following conditions: Shuttle services will be provided according to the schedule in Exhibit A. Hours of operation are subject to change based on ridership levels and will be mutually agreed upon in writing. The shuttle provider may elect to provide vehicles starting from each end of the route and meet enroute and swap passengers at a meeting point midway, allowing each driver to return to their home garage. This is allowable provided that the stop adds less than 10 minutes to the route. The shuttle(s) will be a 12 passenger van or 14 passenger shuttle, with a 7 passenger minivan option. In the event of an unexpected mechanical failure a replacement shuttle will be available within 2 hours. Bidders should indicate a price if a minibus (22-28 passengers) option is available. Standard 15 passenger vans are not acceptable, vehicles seating more than 12 must be mini-buses. Services will not be provided on holidays and semester breaks observed by UMA (see Exhibit A). If UMA would like to cancel for a day due to inclement weather, it will notify the provider at least 2 hours prior to the shift start time. Services will be provided in a good, workmanlike, and courteous manner. All bidder employees should be CORI checked and be compliant with federal and state Department of Transportation, and Department of Motor Vehicle regulations. Drivers should be easily identified by a uniform and/or ID. Shuttle vehicles must be cleaned weekly and in good operating condition. Passenger manifests will be provided by UMA by email or shared electronic folder on the previous day. Provider will return a similar list at least weekly indicating actual ridership (ie indicating no-shows). In cases of inclement weather, the provider shall monitor the UMass Weather Closing URL (www.UMass.edu/closing/) and UMA shall endeavor to give a minimum of two (2) hours’ notice of shift cancellation or the minimum charge of three (3) hours of service will be billed, except in cases where such two (2) hours’ notice is impracticable under the circumstances.
