The ERI will describe Maplewood’s physical, biological, climate-related, and cultural resources, including but not limited to: • Natural Resources: Tree canopy coverage, green spaces, parks, waterways, wetlands, soils, and air quality metrics • Climate Vulnerability: Historical and projected impacts of climate change, including heat islands, flooding, stormwater intensification, ecosystem impact and effect on community health • Ecological Shifts: Changes in biodiversity, presence of invasive species, and habitat fragmentation • Land Use Impacts: Analysis of residential zoning and development trends in relation to environmental resources • Environmental Justice: Identification of communities disproportionately affected by environmental burdens • Policy Review: Summary of relevant Township ordinances, resolutions, and sustainability initiatives adopted since the 2006 ERI • GIS Mapping: Spatial analysis and visual representation of environmental data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
