2. Scope of Work: 2.1. For the purposes of this Scope of Work Low and High Voltages are defined as follows: Low voltage referred to herein is defined as 0 – 480 Volts. High voltage referred to herein is defined as 480 volts – 69,000 volts (69.0 K.V.) (Normally referred to as Medium voltage and/or Distribution voltage). 2.2. Contractor must possess the ability or provide by subcontract the ability to perform Electrical Work as described but not limited to the following: Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring (high voltage and any accompanying low voltage), electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit. Drills holes in concrete for the placement of electrical wiring. Installs pull cord in empty conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit. Splices wires per specifications or code. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels. Connects power cables to equipment,such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. Lays conduit pipe for main feed electric line. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Electrical services including but not limited to High Voltage Transformers, Excavation work for underground service, automatic switching gear/transfer switches, high voltage loop inspection and Repairs, high mast lighting, and high voltage tap box/S&C cabinets. 2.3. Any specialized equipment parts, and/ or components required to perform work requested by the DEMA Agencies shall be invoiced at cost with a markup percentage per the solicitations’ items bid tab section. DEMA also reserves the option of obtaining parts or equipment directly, to be installed by the Contractor. DEMA will provide materials and equipment at its’ own discretion. 2.4. The Contractor must comply with all local and State and Federal laws, rules and regulations for an electrician and employee Licensed Journeyman Certified for High Voltage. All other electricians conducting electrical work must possess a valid Electrical license as a Limited licensee, Journeyman licensee, and/or Apprentice licensee. 2.5. Contractor will provide proper equipment to conduct services applicable to the needs of the project. Contractor must respond to work request in a timely manner, as determined by the DEMA requestor/Project Manager. 2.6. Contractor will provide separate schedules for routine Inspections, routine maintenance, repairs or replacements and for special projects as assigned. 2.7. Contractor must provide 24 hours a day emergency response contact number for emergency work requests, call back to DEMA within 2 hours of the DEMA initial call and be on site within five (5) hours after the contractor makes contact with the DEMA agency and receives work assignments.
