A. Materials Required 1. ~30,000 square feet of turf-type tall fescue sod 2. Incorporate amendments to bring soil pH between 5.5 and 7.0, if needed 3. Incorporate added topsoil to fix silt compaction (estimated need ~100 tons) 4. Sod can be delivered in rolls, strips, or squares but would need be cut to fit areas where sod is needed. Contractor should specify in their bid what sod type and cut (rolls, strips, etc.) would be used. 5. Sod must be laid within 36 hours of harvesting. 6. Some areas may involve installing sod around valve boxes, etc. B. Site Preparation 1. Remove existing turf 2. Till six inches deep 3. Fine till, remove large rocks or other exposed debris 4. Sod area should be prepped so that the sod would be installed level/uniform with existing areas and will be able to successfully grow. 5. Site has underground irrigation in place that needs to be avoided. Contractor responsible for repairing any damages. C. Equipment & Permitting 1. All equipment needed to complete the project will need to be paid and brought in by contractor. Other machinery may be needed to properly prep sod areas (Example: Many areas will need to be leveled with rock (large and small) removed and topsoil added for successful growth).
